Corner Kitchen was opened in June 2015 after owners Sam and Laurie Allen invested much time and resources into renovating 101 South Main St., a beautiful, historic brick building in the heart of Blackstone, Virginia. The menu offers a unique take on Southern-style cuisine as well as classic cocktails that lend well to the delicious food. The most popular items on the menu are the Blackened Catfish, Pork Tenderloin and the Charleston-style Shrimp & Grits. All menu items are made fresh in-house which gives the food a great quality that can be hard to find. As tasty as those dishes are, none of them have been more popular than the Bread Pudding! It comes to the table in a cast iron skillet, topped with vanilla ice cream and a house made lemon caramel sauce. According to one customer, the bread pudding is "the best in the universe!" From Bar-B-Que to Cajun, Chef Sam has embraced Southern cooking and loves putting a new spin on Grandma's old recipes. Now that Corner Kitchen has made it through our first year, we are looking forward to many more to come.
